Give or Take

God created (an act of giving) Adam and Eve perfect and complete as one in Him - their only Father. His design was to "multiply giving" by way of procreation (an act of giving). A child is born vulnerable into life and requires giving of the parents to sustain the new life.

Through parenting, man trains (giving) the child in the way he should go (to learn oneness with God). When he leaves, he shall cleave to his wife and the two shall become one flesh, (God's gift of oneness as an example by way of human relationship, to help us understand the oneness relationship God desires with us - His goal for our life).

It is a more blessed thing to give, rather than to receive.  Jesus

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
God's design for us is only in giving, there is no wanting or taking. There is no fear in giving because perfect love (giving) casts out fear (taking).

  • The Money is Gods
...how that so labouring you ought to support the weak, (giving). I become a steward of God's gift of money for the purpose to support life, mine and others. Therefore I am not dependent on money (a tool to support), but in trusting that God will provide for my needs. I live to focus on oneness with God and to work for God to help support (giving) to others by way of self and money. I trust that God will provide for my physical needs, but whether He does or not, I live to care for the physical and spiritual needs of others. I live to give.

  • Only God should take
...the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away;... It is God alone who should take. It is not for me to take, but only give. When I lost a loved one, my embodied emotions told me I have lost something. Yet, if I am complete in God alone, and therefore not dependent on people or things, in time I must return my focus to the truth of my completeness and oneness in God alone who rules over my emotional state. I must move from self focused pain (taking, expectations, justification, affirmation, codependency, rationalizing) back to the needs of others through love (giving, kindness, caring, building intimate relationships). When God gives or takes, I am pointed to God. When I give it points to God, when I take it points to myself.

  • Food, Clothes, Shelter
God gave food, clothes and shelter to support the body. When I consume too much food, it becomes a form of taking, and the gift from God is diminished. Therefore, I must be mindful about my consumption (food, clothes, shelter) so it remains a gift from God and appreciated, and not something I take - for granted. When I am taking more than God is giving, I become codependent on food, clothes and shelter, and many other things that turn into idols (an enslavement of my life, both physical and spiritual).

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35-39

As I keep my focus on God, giving myself to others, through every circumstance; good or bad, I am being strengthened to be more of who God created me to become - A broken soul, saved by an act of giving (Grace), so that I will one day have endless, deep and meaningful conversations with my Friend!
