What Is In Control Of Your Life?

As I began to understand my completeness in God alone, I began to understand for the first time in my life how God and Money are not in some way equal. I have always understood that God is all I need. But until I stopped trying to reason with this truth, recognizing that my mind is a tool and not who I am, the “me” (the “you” of Steve separate from the mind) I began to also see money as a tool which is used to support the body only; the material, physical part of who I am.

By separating my identification from my mind (which is only a tool), to knowing that the “I” or “you” in my person is who is connected with God, I was able to separate the finite value of money as physical only, compared to the infinite spiritual value of knowing God. I am also understanding that the “I” or “you” in my person, or who I really am, is also separated from my earthly body which is not dependent on any physical thing, even unto death. My mind is connected to the body and lives to fight death, which causes fear of lose or safty.

I now view money as a by-product I receive as a gift of my labor. Money is nothing more than a more liquid means of trading to sustain the body. My physical body needs no longer look for someone who wants my firewood because I want his vegetables. I can now use money to trade for the vegetables, and trade my firewood to someone who has some money. Again, only to sustain the body which is a gift from God to enjoy the earth while I am here occupying this body.

My body, which runs on the tool of my mind, might worry about tomorrow because it might lack food or shelter. But the “I” or “you” in my person is fully complete and perfect and satisfied and at peace, forever, just “Being” in the presence of God.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35-39
